Frequently asked questions

What does Verita ITAD do?
We handle retired IT equipment across its whole life. That covers collecting it from your site, destroying the data on it, reselling whatever still has value, and responsibly recycling what doesn't. You can use one of those services on its own or all of them as a managed programme.
What happens to the data on our equipment?
Every storage device is sanitised or physically destroyed, and each one is recorded individually so you have documentation of what happened to it. If you would rather nothing left your building intact, we can carry out the destruction on site instead.
What types of equipment do you take?
Laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, storage arrays, networking hardware and the contents of full data centre racks. We also handle retired medical and diagnostic equipment, including devices that hold patient data.
Where do you operate?
We are based in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. On-site data destruction and equipment collection are available across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Do we get paid for our equipment?
Where equipment still has resale value, we remarket it and return the proceeds to you. What that comes to depends on what you are retiring, its age and its condition, so we assess it as part of the inquiry rather than quoting from a list.
How do we get started?
Send an inquiry describing what you need to clear and roughly how much of it there is. We will come back within one business day to agree the approach and schedule a collection around your timeline.
